So what is this game that I am making?
Well the current thinking is to make it a real cosy game that players can escape into to just relax and enjoy themself – think along the lines of Stardew Valley, Kynseed, Animal Crossing.
The player will get a little house to decorate and renovate, a garden where one might plant some crops, maybe you even want to take care of some cute little animals or perhaps you feel more like collecting recipes and cooking up a storm.
Then there is the town and its unique blend of inhabitants that you can hang out with and befriend. Maybe you will learn more about their lives and stories along the way.
That’s the plan at least.
What’s it going to look like?
The plan is to make this a very stylised game, along the lines of Pixar and Disney. I think it adds to the cuteness that I am going for and it might actually be somewhat doable for me to create placeholder art that fits the bill enough to get an feel for the overall look of the game.
But again.. programmer here, so let’s not get our hopes up too high ๐.
Why do you think you’d make anything that compete against any of the other lovely cosy games out there?
Honestly? It doesn’t have to at all. I am making this mostly for myself but if other people happen to enjoy it too when it releases then even better ๐.
However to put a bit of a uniqueness to it I am planning to make the setting very much inspired by Austria and Austrian culture and folklore.
We are a bunch of lovely and quirky people surrounded by beautiful mountains and I’d love to share a little bit of that experience to the rest of the world…And maybe I am a tad home sick.. just maybe ๐.
Here are some pictures to give you some context to what I am talking about and what I use as inspiration.

Jodel.. what now?
The name is very much placeholder, but I had to call it something and this is the first name that came to mind. If you don’t know what Jodeling is, boy have I something to show you – enjoy ๐
You see now what I meant with quirky ๐?
So what now?
I think future posts I make will either be cultural and give some background information on certain aspects of the things I want to implement, or they will be development posts, updating on the progress of the game itself and how I went about implementing specific features, level design bits or even some meek attempts at blendering things.
Well, we’ll see how that goes – back to the code front for me for now.
Bye ๐
