Happy Easter!πŸ‡πŸ£πŸŒˆ

Here are some Easter props I have been working on… perhaps to productively procrastinate from more complex systems πŸ˜„.

In Austria we collect branches of Pussy Willow (I love the english name for this 🀣 we just call it ‘Palmkatzerl’ in Austria, literally translated to ‘Palm Kitty’) and other spring bushes, and put them in a vase to place on the dinner table and decorate it with coloured eggs and other easter themed decorations like flowers, little toy baby chicks etc.
Originally it was to symbolise the return of spring… but it also just looks really nice. 😊

Here are three variations from me.

We got some fun easter buntings going on to decorate our lil ingame house.

Blenders ‘Array’ and ‘Curve’ modifiers can be real timer savers for this kind of work. Although you could probably do something really nifty with Geometry Nodes as well.

And we got a new tablecloth with a easter theme. It’s rare that I like something I made, but I think this turned out rather cute actually 😁.

(Psst, little fun fact, I actually drew this with a mouse during a coffee date video call πŸ˜„).

Of course we need easter eggs for easter!

Ok this might be slightly too much easter egg πŸ˜„
Yes this is better 😊

For anyone wondering about the brown eggs with the quite blobby designs – when I was younger we used to collect flowers and leafs in the garden, press them against the eggs, and then boil them in a pot with onion skins to colour them.
This results in quite lovely and unique easter eggs, which are a lot of fun to make (if you don’t mind the onion smell while boiling πŸ˜‰).

That’s it for today, have a lovely easter weekend all! πŸ‡πŸ£πŸŒž
(even though it is one hour shorter than it should be, stupid summer time πŸ˜’πŸ•›)

Happy Easter Egg Hunting!

  1. Productive procrastinating is some of the best productivity out there! A little motivation goes a long way 😜

I feel like I learn a lot about Austria from this blog, and now I have some good ideas for future easter decorations too!

    • Will have to decorate a vase of pussy willow branches next easter then 😁
    • Will have to do some leaf pressing too! (And if they’re so beautiful I’m reduced to tears, I can just blame the onions πŸ˜›)

I like that in your model you got the baby chicks to stand on the branches, I can usually barely get them to stand up on a flat table without falling over! πŸ˜…

That bunting is really cute too, yet more Blender wisdom being spilled here on how you made them, and that tablecloth is so cute you could sell printed versions (well done on the skills drawing with a mouse! πŸ‘πŸ)

I can’t help but think those giant easter eggs would make a good art installation, could put them all around a city like the giraffes we had in Cambridge!

Another great post, this blog itself is becoming cosy, the posts are always so feel-good!
