Long Time No See and Unicorn Fountains | Jodel Update #40

Boy, talk about tumbleweeds here. The last update was waaaay too long ago, but much has happened in life and left me with precious little time to do anything. πŸ˜…

Long story short, over the last few months I went through the exciting and scary process of going through interviews and somehow managed to land myself another proper big-girl job in the game industry world – with benefits and paychecks and all. πŸ˜‹

Now that I have settled in a little bit into my new role, I am trying to get back to work on JodelTown as a side hobby project.
This means updates will be a little bit more sparse than on a weekly basis, but they should at least be coming again! πŸ’ͺ
To reflect this change I also have decided to change the name of the Weekly Updates to Jodel Updates – not only does it make me chuckle but it’s also more accurate going forward.

And why not start right now, with stuff I have worked on in between things here and there!

One thing you’ll notice if you have ever been in an Austrian city, village, or even just a little hamlet with two houses, a farm, and a church (and there is always a church), is the unmistakable sound of splattering water emitted from a fountain in whatever the centre of the town happens to be.

So of course JodelTown needs a fountain too!
Let’s have a look at a first prototype of the official new JodelTown Centre Fountain πŸŽ‰!!

I built this with multiple references from fountains all over western Austria and Bavaria in mind.
These luscious fish-lips will spout water to fill the fountain. Yes, this actually comes off a real-world reference as well πŸ˜‚
Every good fountain needs horses, unicorns or kelpies, in my opinion! No exceptions…except maybe whales?

And that’s it for this time – I really hope to get these updates up and running more regularly again, so let’s see how that will go πŸ˜„
Bye for now πŸ‘‹πŸŒˆ
